Yoga Nidra Explained
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation style, also known as, Non-Sleep Deep Rest meditation. It’s goal is to calm the nervous system, allowing the body to fall asleep and the mind to drift into a heightened state of consciousness.
When practicing the meditation, your active brain waves are taken into the REM waves that your mind needs for sleeping. Ideally we want to get 3-4 hours of REM per night, most of us get around 1.5 hours if we’re lucky. This hinderance in the sleep causes you to not get proper rest and therefore remain in chronic stress.
The video explains many benefits of the practice of Yoga Nidra and how allowing your mind to get into REM will greatly benefit you.
